Adobe is having a party this week, and we're all invited! The company's industry-leading visual effects software After Effects turns 20 this month, and Adobe is celebrating all across the internet.
Adobe's Steve Forde announced the celebration on the company's After Effects blog, with events continuing over the next three months and even a little surprise in the CS6 version of the app itself.
"It’s been twenty years since After Effects was created by a small start-up company in Providence, Rhode Island," Forde writes on the AE blog. "Some of those brilliant minds who brought After Effects into this world are still here at Adobe and some have moved onto other ventures. But one thing that remains true -- from the first day the Company of Science and Art (CoSA) showed a promising animated graphics in 1993 to today, After Effects has impacted the lives of so many. And it is those people we find insanely great."
Adobe's theme for the 20th anniversary is "AE & Me," with the goal to get users, employees and partners to answer the question, "How has After Effects impacted you and your career?"
For those in the motion picture industry, After Effects has become a standard for post-production visual effects work. But Adobe considers the application to also be a catalyst to help propel careers, and is asking users to submit their own stories to prove the point.
While Adobe is celebrating two decades of After Effects via Facebook and Twitter, the company will also be hosting Ask a Video Pro eSeminars over the next three months, and the blog even details a little surprise the company has hidden inside AE CS6 -- hit the link for instructions to find out what it is!
